Pitting corrosion
Spot corrosion refers to localized corrosion that occurs on the surface of a metal material, with little or no corrosion, but dispersed. Generally, the pore size of pitting corrosion is less than 1mm, and the depth is smaller than the pore size, also known as pitting corrosion. Stainless steel is prone to pitting corrosion in environments containing Cl. The surface of general corrosion pits is often blocked and covered by corrosion products, making it difficult to detect in a timely manner, resulting in sudden accidents.
Intergranular corrosion
Intergranular corrosion is a localized selective corrosion of metal materials along grain boundaries in a specific corrosive medium. The electrochemical corrosion morphology that occurs along or adjacent to the grain boundaries of stainless steel. Generally, intergranular corrosion is considered much more severe at the grain boundary than at the grain itself.
Intergranular sensitivity
Susceptibility to intergranular corrosion refers to the degree to which stainless steel may develop a tendency towards intergranular corrosion, which in reverse refers to the level of resistance of stainless steel to intergranular corrosion.
